AGE REQUIREMENT: Minimum age is 23 years.
DRIVERS LICENSE: The driver is required to have a valid driver’s license that has been issued by a European Union country or a valid International Drivers License. A minimum of 12 months driving experience is required.
RENTAL PERIOD: Minimum rental period is 24 hours. Any hour(s) in excess of the contracted rental period will be charged on the basis of 1/6th of the 24 hour rental rate.
DEPOSITS: The estimated cost of the rental plus a 20% security deposit is payable in advance. A final adjustment will be made upon completion of the rental period and return of the vehicle.
FINES OR PENALTIES: Any fines or penalties during the rental period shall be the responsibility of the driver.
FUEL COSTS: All fuel costs are the responsibility of the renter. If vehicle is not returned with the same level of fuel as when it was delivered to renter¸ a fuel charge equal to the difference will be added.
ONE WAY RENTAL: One way rentals (i.e. automobile returned to a location other than the original rental location) are subject to agreement and confirmation by MARS Car Rentals at the time of delivery.
TRANSPORTATION BY SEA: Any ship or ferry transportation of any vehicle must be with prior written approval of MARS Car Rentals.
BABY SEATS &NAVIGATION (GPS): Are available on request at the time of the booking.
INSURANCE POLICY BENEFITS
All MARS CAR RENTALS vehicles have insurance coverage for bodily injury, death and property damage to third parties. Third parties are defined as vehicle occupants with the exception of the driver.
All MARS CAR RENTAL vehicles have Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage for theft or damage to the vehicle. The current deductible obligation of the renter is 500 to 700 Euros, depending on the category of vehicle (subject to change with prior notice). Zero deductible coverage is available at additional charge if requested prior to the commencement of the rental period. Current charge for this additional coverage is 8 € for the groups A,B,C and 10 € for the groups D,E,J per rental day. A condition of this additional coverage is that there is no violation of the Highway Code involved with the loss.
INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING
Damage to the interior of the vehicle, the tires and/or the undercarriage, except if such damage results from an accident that is covered under the terms of the car rental agreement.
Damage resulting from an accident that is caused or contributed to in any way by the driver or any of his/her passengers being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as defined by the applicable legal statutes.
Damage resulting from an accident when the driver of the vehicle is not a designated driver with prior written authorization.
Damage or loss resulting from the renter not taking all reasonable precautions to properly park the vehicle in a legal parking space and secure the vehicle.
Damages caused as a result of the vehicle being driven on an unsafe roadway. For example, but not limited to, an unpaved road.
